Rate The Road

Terms of use

Version 2026-10-13. By using Rate The Road you agree to these terms.

Do not use the app while you are driving. Stop safely first, or report after your trip. A passenger may use it.

In an emergency, call 112. Rate The Road is not an emergency service and does not alert the police, ambulance or road authorities.

The information comes from other drivers. It is not official, it may be wrong or out of date, and roads change. Always follow road signs, the police and the conditions you see.

1. The service

Rate The Road ("RTR") shows the condition of roads in Maharashtra, based on ratings and reports from its users. It is a pilot run by DP Patil. It is free, and it may change, pause or stop at any time.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and sign in with your own Google account. One account per person. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

3. What you may post

Ratings, stretch reports, hazard reports and feedback must be honest, about roads, and based on what you saw. Do not post:

You keep the rights to what you post. You allow RTR to store, show, combine and use it, without your name, to run and improve the service, including after you delete your account (see the privacy notice).

4. Moderation

We may hold, remove or limit any report, and suspend or block any account, that breaks these terms or the law. Every such action is logged with its reason. If we removed something of yours and you think we were wrong, write to the Grievance Officer (see Complaints and takedown requests).

5. Do not misuse the service

Do not try to get around limits or security, read other users' data, copy the data in bulk, or disrupt the service.

6. No guarantee

RTR is provided as it is, without any promise that it is accurate, complete or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law.

7. Map and routes

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Routes and place search are provided by openrouteservice.

8. Ending

You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app: You, Privacy and your data, Delete my account.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; each version has a date, and important changes are shown in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
